Two-time heavyweight champion Joshua Discharged from Medical Facility in Nigeria Following Deadly Road Accident
Olympic gold medalist Anthony Joshua has left the medical facility, local government spokespeople announced on Wednesday evening. The 36-year-old was part of a serious road collision near Lagos on Monday, a horrific crash that resulted in the deaths of two of his close associates.
Recovering from Minor Injuries
The sports star had been receiving medical attention while healing from his light wounds, his management team had said on Monday. A government official, Gbenga Omotoso, confirmed in an update on social media that Joshua was declared medically stable to leave and heal privately.
“Joshua and his mother were at the funeral home in Lagos this afternoon to pay their final respects to his two deceased friends as they were being readied to be sent home,” the commissioner stated.

The two men who died were identified as Latif Ayodele, a fitness coach, and Sina Ghami, a strength and conditioning coach. It was also noted that the athlete was heartbroken and overcome with emotion over the tragic loss of his two dear friends.”
