Mohamed Salah Extends Apology to Liverpool Dressing Room, Reveals Curtis Jones
Curtis Jones has revealed that the Egyptian forward apologised to the team in the wake of the fallout from his televised remarks.
The Incident
The striker was dropped from a European match after criticising the club and claiming his relationship with manager had broken down.
“Mo is his own man and he can say his own stuff,” Jones revealed. “He apologised to us and was like: ‘If my words hurt anyone, I'm sorry.’”
Arne Slot has chosen not to comment publicly on whether he was apologised to from the 33-year-old forward.
Team Unity
The player stated that the squad's reaction stayed normal. “He was his usual self, his demeanour was positive and we all treated him normally,” Jones added.
He also suggested that a teammate fighting for a place is less of an issue. “It's clear there are certain ways you can express yourself,” he said. “However, if a player is content to just not start, then I think that’s concerning.”
On-Field Response
Their results have been impressive in the games following the interview fallout. He feels the Salah's words were not intended to harm the team.
“When there’s been any sort of anger, the source has been from a good place,” Jones concluded. “We’re past that now and we’re building chemistry, getting results and securing victories.”
