Barcelona Set to Play Historic Game at Renovated Camp Nou over the weekend

Barça revealed their first game will take place at the renovated but unfinished Camp Nou on Saturday. The club will host Athletic Bilbao in La Liga 30 months following their departure to allow renovations to start.

“We’ve dreamed about the return. Now, it’s here. We’re back home. Back at Spotify Camp Nou.”

Not all seats will be available but 45,401 spectators are permitted inside as per the current authorization. After final construction, the stadium’s capacity will reach almost 105,000 spectators, a rise from the old capacity. Barça announced completed upgrades featured an updated entryway for the team plus modern locker rooms.

Stadium Testing

Barcelona held a fan-accessible workout on the home pitch earlier this month. They mentioned they were hoping for permission from Uefa to host the next European match against Eintracht Frankfurt in December in the renovated venue. Previous fixtures took place at the Olympic Stadium.
